A BOAT was rescued after becoming lost in the fog last night.
Gosport & Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS) was called out by HM Coastguard after a two-man vessel was stuck in murky weather around No Mans Land Fort in the Solent on its way back to Langstone Harbour.
The volunteer lifeboat crew, based at Stokes Bay, used directional equipment to locate the missing boat.
Coxswain Steve Ray said: “Once we found the boat we escorted it back to Camber Dock in Old Portsmouth where it remained until the weather cleared.
“The weather made it tricky to locate the vessel, but the equipment onboard the lifeboat, and the assistance of our shore crew working with charts back at base, helped us find them as quickly as possible.”
