A woman said she was branded a fire risk while watching a film in a Hampshire cinema, sat in her wheelchair.

Cecillia Turk, says she was was asked to leave the Cineworld cinema in Whiteley, near Fareham half an hour into a film because her wheelchair was said to be a "fire risk".

She said she was humiliated and that she had originally been at the front of the cinema, before moving to the back because her neck hurt.

But she said staff asked her to leave despite not blocking any exits and left with a refund.

In a statement Cineworld said they were sorry Ms Turk was not happy with her experience and have apologised. They also said they take matters of accessibility very seriously and have made changes so all screens are fully accessible.

They added that they meet the standards and guidelines from the disability working group of the cinema industry body.
