A WOULD-BE robber is being hunted after a failed hold-up at a service station.

The Locksheath Service station in Bridge Road, Park Gate, was held-up at 3.30am yesterday morning by a man wearing a balaclava.

He demanded the shop assistant handover cash before hitting the monitor on the till.

She handed over nothing to him and he was last seen running off towards Station Road.

The man is described as approximately 6ft 4 and of a slim build. He was wearing a black balaclava, gloves and dark clothing, as well as carrying a blue bag.

Inspector James Stewart said: “This was clearly a traumatic incident for the member of staff involved and we hope that anyone who may have seen something that night or who has information about the person who did this will come forward and speak to us.”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting 44160060541, or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
