A CAR has hit a lamp post on the A27 this morning, causing major tailbacks.
One lane is blocked in both directions on Eastern Way near the Quay Street roundabout, causing several miles of tailbacks.
Police were called at 8.36am when a Volkswagen Polo hit a lamp post.
A spokesperson from Hampshire police said: “There’s nothing to suggest it’s serious but fire and ambulance have been called.”
Paramedics treated the driver at the scene.
The road was cleared and lanes reopened by 11.30am, with delays beginning to ease at 11.40am.
