Teacher jailed for sex offences

A 58-year-old teacher has been sentenced to seven years behind bars for a catalogue of sexual abuse spanning more than 30 years.

James Braid, of Gosport, was found guilty of seven charges of indecent assault on teenagers at a Bay House School.

Four additional offences against three boys were taken into account.

Speaking at Portsmouth Crown Court today Judge Ian Pearson described him as a "determined, deceitful and predatory paedophile" and added he may have committed hundreds of other similar offences.
