IT WAS smiles all round as a Hampshire Naval based gave cash to ten charities.
HMS Collingwood in Fareham raised £18,000 at its June open day event, which saw 6,000 people pack the base to watch the popular Royal Navy Field Gun Competition.
The charities receiving a cheque included the Rainbow Centre in Fareham, Naomi House and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, who all got £1,000 each, and the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity which received £6,500.
