DETECTIVES are hunting a rogue trader who they believe is targeting elderly residents in Locks Heath and Warsash.

Three pensioners, aged between 68 and 86, say they have been offered unnecessary roofing work.

One resident was even approached at a cashpoint on Thursday, August 8 and asked to withdraw money.

Although none of them handed over any cash, police are warning residents to take extra precautions.

The suspect is described as white, around 5ft 8in, slim, aged around 40 with short dark hair.

Sergeant Aaron Freemantle from Park Gate police said: “Rogue traders specifically target those who they deem to be vulnerable within our communities.”

Anyone with information should call Park Gate police on 101.
