Hightown Centre in Tunstall Road, Thornhill revamped

Community centre opening Community centre opening

FAMILIES, volunteers, and community workers turned out for the opening of a revamped community centre in Southampton.

Mayor Carol Cunio and council leader Royston Smith marked the official opening of the Hightown Centre in Tunstall Road, Thornhill.

The former youth centre was sold by the city council for £215,000 to the charity that will continue the work of a ten-year Government regeneration scheme on the estate, known as Thornhill Plus You.

Plus You Limited will rent it out for community activities and the building will remain a base for childcare, nursery education, and youth activities.

Is there anything that will stop Royston shoving his nose into everything. The Tories never wanted to know anything about this estate. Now that Thornhill Plus You is a success, they want to claim it as their own. Go away Royston and deal with the Biomass problem.

Hightown is seperate place on the edge if Thornhill?

How wrong you are?

Obviously you don't know the area that well Hightown is and always has been part of Thornhill.

If you care to look on any OS maps, it shows Hightown lays wholly within the Thornhill boundary, it is not on the edge of Thornhill and never has been.

Ask the Post Office, the SO19 6 post code is a Thornhill post code which also takes in parts of Eastleigh BC (Kingsbourne Rise, Spruce Drive and the like)

You may have a bugbear, but please get one that's is factually correct.
