A PROPOSAL to fell a mature pine tree near a house in Sharvells Road, Milford on Sea has been rejected.

Alfred Honey lodged an appeal after the district council rejected his application but Government-appointed tree inspector Alan Engley has upheld the authority's decision.

Mr Engley said the tree was an important landscape feature and its removal would cause significant harm to the character and appearance of the area.
