Accident causing tailbacks in major road
TAILBACKS of up to half an hour have been caused as a result of an accident on the A31.
One lane of the main road through the New Forest has been closed as a result of a crash involving three cars.
The accident happened on the westbound carriageway just after Stoney Cross, forcing the closure of the outside lane at 10.45am.
Traffic was queuing back to the Cadnam junction on the M27 as vehicles struggled to get past the scene of the crash.
Emergency services are on the scene and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was also deployed but stodd down after paramedics on the ground reported only minor injuries.
