Why is life so cruel sometimes. As a father to two girls prayers to Jades friends and family. RIP. God bless.

It is so Sad. Ive been riding bikes for over 15yrs I think that 50cc bikes should not be allowed on any large road, or they should increase the size to 65 or 80cc to give a bit more power, as 30 mph on a road where people travel 80mph is asking for trouble.

Just imaging coming over the brow and finding a moped in front of you!! a 50mph limit is not going to change anything ppl still travel 80+ a 50 limit is not going to make a difference, We need to rethink small engine sizes.

Keeping slower, more vulnerable vehicles off the road just so YOU can drive as fast as you like and not have to worry is not the answer.

I saw dangerous driving Saturday pm coming back from Highcliff.One blue 4x4 overtook us at high speed but had to cut in front as there was nowhere to go,and the along the same stretch of road another 4x4 overtook us,2 transit vans & 3 cars and had to cut in just missing a head-on collision causing us all to break hard.He didn't get very far,we met up with him at the Lyndhurst traffic lights !! Thinking of Jade's family ****

some things are not needed to be said, but, if the road is 70, large number of people are going to drive at 70, to expect them to drop to 30 at every potential hazard isn't feasible,

Why are these bikes allowed on motorways? if its safety issues then it should also apply to these roads with the same speed limit but with less regulation.

and if you want to be patronising about spelling, Sole is a correctly spelt word, spell checks won't flag it up, and if you don't know it's spelt wrong, why would you check.

Quite so. If you cannot see round the corner or or over the brow of the hill then you ease off the throttle.

Insurance companies do offer reduced insurance premiums for those who have done advanced driving skills. In these times of austerity this can represent a long term saving. Accidents are expensive and injuries cost too.

I do agree, we must all take collective responsibility for all road users, even the irresponsible ones and the aggressive ones! Most drive defensively but some have anger management issues.

Driving isn't a competition and there is no point in getting angry about another driver's mistake. Remember that driver might have a cracking headache or might be in a hurry to get to a hospital because of an emergency or be a stranger or have made a genuine error.

Most people who race up and overtake at breakneck speed end up saving at best a minute or two. You catch up to them at the lights! They waste a huge amount of petrol.

Cool drivers are chilled out about other drivers errors. They don't chase them in a fit of road rage. There is little you can do about it so best to concentrate on your own driving.

I am absolutely disgusted at how quickly the Daily Echo pounced on the family for this "story"...

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. You will be together again one day.

My thoughts are with this girls family and her friends - especially to those who are so young and are not used to losing someone so close so it must be a huge shock.

It is time that the Highways Agency looked at reducing the speed of the traffic along this stretch of road and finding ways to enforce it. At the approach to this accident you have the exit from Ringwood nr the pub, the slip road on from and off to Matchams, the A31 divides to the roundabout for the Bournemouth spur/3 Cross and a huge amount of potential for vehicles to collide as they pick and choose which lane of the four they need to be in to reach their destinations. If the traffic had been traveling slower there might have been a small chance that this girl might have survived an impact however if we take it that she might have been doing 30mph and that she was in collision with a vehicle traveling at a potential 70mph or more then you can see how she didn't stand a chance to survive.
I too am a biker of large capacity machines and I have had my eyes opened as I've also taken to nipping around town on a 50cc moped and even ventured out onto faster roads. It's not a lot of fun to be honest when you pass a converging slip road. Approaching vehicles joining the road to your left are looking in their mirrors or over their shoulders to see if they can join the carriageway on which you are traveling. They can be traveling a lot faster than you might be going and I can see how they might not be concentrating on a slow moving vehicle already traveling on the carriageway in front of them.
This stretch of road has had a spate of accidents of varying degrees of seriousness over the years in both directions and at what price must it cost to bring the speed down by 20mph to 50mph?
Please will the local council and those responsible for traffic safety and enforcement take the right steps to ensure that the likelihood of such a horrendous event is drastically reduced.

I am so very very upset to read this tragic news. The pain must be unbearable. Please be assured many are grieving this tragic event with you.as most of us have children.i am so terribly sorry. I wish I could take your pain away.my sincere condolences to all the family and relatives.phil x

Firstly, The A31 at any point is not a motorway, but I agree that mopeds with a 30 MPH top speed are inappropriate for this stretch of the road due to the speed differentials. Anybody know the actual speed limit at this junction? I thought it was 50 MPH.
