A MAN will appear in court next month charged with causing the death of a ten-year-old girl in a road crash while over the drinkdrive limit.

Robert Blakely has been charged with causing the death of Evey Rose Staley by driving without due care and attention and while under the influence of alcohol.

The 31-year-old, from Broadway, in Sandown, on the Isle of Wight, will appear before magistrates in Newport on April 2.

The charges come after Evey and her family were travelling in a Subaru on the A3020 Cowes Road, Newport, when it collided with a Ford Puma.
