Hundreds expected to turn up for tragic Jade's funeral
1:10pm Thursday 21st March 2013 in New Forest
HUNDREDS of mourners are expected to attend the funeral of Hampshire teenager Jade Clark tomorrow.
It’s thought the funeral at Bournemouth Crematorium will attract several hundred people, all keen to pay their respects to the teenager who was killed as she rode her scooter along the A31.
If there are too many people to fit inside the crematorium, mourners will be able to stand outside and listen to the service on speakers.
A post on Facebook said 16-year-old Jade’s devastated family and friends were being encouraged to wear a combination of black and pink to the service.
The teenager was struck by a light-coloured Volvo XC90 as she rode her scooter along the dual carriageway near Ashley Heath.
Police are still hunting for the driver of the car, who failed to stop at the scene.
Yesterday it was revealed that the reward to find the driver of the Volvo had gone up to £15,000.
An additional £1,000 reward is offered by Crimestoppers. Tributes have flooded in for Jade ever since news of her tragic death was confirmed.
She was a member of the Young Firefighters’ Association at Ringwood and a former pupil of Ringwood School and has been described as a “loving girl and wonderful daughter”.
Several hundred people took part in a recent scooter ride and balloon release organised in Jade’s memory.
Last week they revealed they were searching for a XC90 registered between 2003 and 2007, including vehicles with 52 to 57 plates and personalised registration plates.
They believe the vehicle would have suffered front-end damage during the accident.
Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
The £15,000 reward is for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of an offender.
