HUNDREDS of scooter enthusiasts will rev up their engines and descend on the New Forest this weekend for a three-day charity event.

The New Forest Scooter Club Rally 2013 will see the Scout and Guide Centre in Newlands Road, Fawley become a scooter hub.

Event organisers say they expect more than 300 scooters from across the country to take part in the event, that aims to raise money for the Soldiers Off The Street charity and the Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington.

A 25-mile ride out will sweep through the New Forest on Friday at 1pm as part of the event, which last year raised £2,600, split between the same charities.

The organiser of the rally, Tash Moore, 42, from Lymington, said: “Following the success of last year’s we are expecting more people this year. We hope to raise lots of money for a good cause and it is always a really friendly event with a great atmosphere.”

There will also be a custom show, rally games and a gymkhana scooter obstacle course.

Anyone can take part.

It runs from 1pm on Friday to midday on Sunday.
