Mark Boothroyd dies just two days before memorial service for his son, Jack
Tributes have been paid to a Hampshire dad who died just two days before he was due to attend a memorial service for his son.
Mark Boothroyd, 48, suffered a suspected heart attack at a club in Milford-on-Sea.
His son Jack, 15, died on October 9 2010 after suffering an acute asthma attack as he played with friends on Milford village green.
Now the family has been hit by a second tragedy that has devastated Mr Boothroyd's three daughters, Sophie, Vicky and Charlotte.
Writing on a social network site Victoria said: “I never thought life without my darling little brother Jack Boothroyd could ever get any worse until losing my daddy.
“The small piece of my heart that was left from the first hit has now been taken too.”
Sophie added: “I hope you're finally reunited to your baby boy, daddy, even though our life is in bits again we will continue to make you proud.”
Paul Dignam, a steward at Milford Club, where Mr Boothroyd was living, said they had been laughing and joking just hours before he died. But Mr Boothroyd went to bed early after complaining of what he thought was indigestion.
“At around 8.30pm he said he was going up for an early night. Then, around 8.45pm he buzzed down asking for us to call an ambulance,” he said.
