IT HAS been revealed that a Hampshire teenager who has been missing for three days came into the UK as a victim of human trafficking.

Suong Thi Bui, 17, was last seen at her home in Lawrence Road, in Ringwood, at 4am on Saturday morning, where she was under the care of social services.

Police are now becoming increasingly concerned about her safety and are urging anyone who may have seen her to contact them immediately to ensure her safe return.

Officers have released two new photographs of the teenager, who speaks very little English, in the hope that it will trigger memories of possible sightings.

Detective Inspector, Jim Park said: “An earlier appeal for witnesses brought some useful information and possible sightings providing new lines of enquiry that are being followed up by detectives.

“However, as time passes our concern deepens for Suong's safety.

“She was brought to the UK through illegal human trafficking and was put into the care of social services after being found working.

“She speaks very little English and has no means of buying food or lodgings for herself, which raises our concerns further.

“She may still be in the local area however if she has gone further afield it is most likely she has gone to either to Bournemouth or London.

“We have two new photos of her and I would urge people to have a look. I would ask anyone who knows where she is or who thinks they may have seen her to contact my team.”

Those with information are asked to call the Western Area CID Team on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
