TOP TV wildlife presenter Chris Packham will be judging a photography competition aimed at capturing the New Forest’s unique wildlife and landscape. The popular naturalist will be casting his expert eye over entries in a competition that is open to everyone.

The title of the three-month competition is “reflections of the New Forest” with a different subject for each month.

In January it will be themed as New Forest New Year landscapes.

In February the focus will be on lakes and rivers while March will be centred around the national park’s world famous ponies. Entries for these two categories can have been taken during any month.

The competition, organized by The Master Builder’s House Hotel, in conjunction with the New Forest Destination Partnership, will award prizes to the best photograph in the category and then an overall winner will be chosen.

Dave Thompson, owner of Lymington Photographic, has offered a large free canvas or block print to the overall winner and a smaller one for each section winners. He is also offering a 25 per cent discount voucher for runners up.

The hotel is also providing a range of prizes.

Entries must not have been placed or won any other photographic competition and must be in before the end of the relevant month.

An award ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 27 in the afternoon at the Master Builders House Hotel.

Up to three photographs can be submitted for each category.
