BIRD lovers are celebrating the arrival of the first chicks born to a pair of goshawks nesting in the New Forest.
Nature enthusiasts will now be able to watch the three chicks being cared for by their parents, thanks to a webcam and mobile app.
For the past three weeks the female goshawk has been sitting on the four eggs while the male has been bringing her food.
Live images are being beamed to the New Forest Reptile Centre, near Lyndhurst, where visitors can follow the goshawks’ progress.
RSPB officer Jeremy Peters said: “The exciting part of our Date with Nature season is about to begin with the hatching of three goshawk chicks. We hope to see the fourth egg hatch – and watching the chicks grow over the next six to seven weeks will be a wonderful sight.”
