A FAMILY fun day is promising to be bigger and better than ever this year with a host of entertainment including a daredevil stunt.

Totton Family Funday, which attracts thousands of people to Testwood recreation ground on Salisbury Road, is taking place tomorrow.

The event includes a host of entertainment and along with all the usual stalls, food and activities, the programme also includes a stunt which will involve an escapologist hanging 200ft in the air.

John Cunningham, one of the organisers who received a civic award from Totton council for their efforts in staging the event, said: “Our main events will be young and adult relay races, a visit from the Star Wars storm troopers and, all things going well, an escapologist hanging 200ft in the air from a crane.”

This year’s event, which runs from 1pm to 5pm,will also be supporting the local food bank and those attending are being asked to bring with them a can to deposit on their entrance to the free event.

The idea is to help replenish stocks of the Youth and Families Matter Food Bank, which has seen an increase in demand in the last year.

There will also be a great sticker swap where World Cup stickers can be traded, with fairness of exchanges being overseen.

There will also be nail art, hair straightening, hand and foot massage, a Formula One simulator, basic car maintenance and free food.
