MORE than 30 firefighters are tackling a major blaze in the New Forest today.

Three acres of grassland are alight near Monkshorn Farm in Main Road, East Boldre, near Lymington.

Six appliances are at the scene from Beaulieu, Brockenhurst, New Milton, St Mary's and two from Lymington.

Firefighters are using eight hose reels, water-filled 'knapsacks', beaters and Land Rovers carrying water to combat the flames.

The fire broke out at around 1.20pm but the cause is unknown.
