POLICE investigating the murder of a Hampshire mother-of-five have made another arrest.

A woman has been arrested this morning in connection with the murder of Pennie Davis, 47, who was found stabbed in a field near Beaulieu more than a week ago.

The 28-year-old from Hythe is being held on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

Also this morning, magistrates granted police a further 36 hours to detain in custody a 36-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police are asking people with information about Pennie’s murder to contact them in confidence.

In particular, they would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of Pennie’s work at Sainsbury’s on Hampton Lane, Blackfield between 1.30 and 3pm, Tuesday, September 2.

Pennie, a 47-year-old mum of five from Blackfield, left work and drove in her dark green Toyota Land Cruiser to the field by Leygreen Farm near Beaulieu where she was found later that afternoon. She suffered multiple stab wounds.

Anyone with information is asked the Operation Biscotti investigation team in confidence on 101.
