DETECTIVES have tonight been granted more time to quiz a man in connection with the murder of Hampshire mum Pennie Davis.

The 36-year-old suspect was initially arrested on Tuesday night over the stabbing of the 47-year-old mother-of-five.

Now Hampshire Constabulary has been granted a further 25 hours to question him.

Meanwhile a 28-year-old woman from Hythe who was arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder has been released on bail until Monday, November 3, pending further enquiries.

Tonight officers renewed their plea for witnesses to contact them in connection with the her death.

They are particularly asking for anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area of the Sainsbury's where Pennie worked in Hampton Lane, Blackfield, between 1.30-3pm on Tuesday, September 2.

As previously reported by the Daily Echo, supermarket worker Pennie, from Blackfield, left work in her dark Toyota Land Cruiser to go and tend to her horses in Leygreen Farm near Beaulieu, where she was found dead later that afternoon.

She suffered multiple stab wounds.

Anyone with information should contact the Operation Biscotti investigation team on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
