TWO celebrities joined shoppers at a Hampshire supermarket today to help them cope with the Christmas rush.
Meridian anchorman Fred Dinenage and Southampton diver Peter Waterfield visited the Totton branch of Morrisons to assist customers struggling to cope with huge amounts of shopping.
They laughed and joked with shoppers as they helped them pack their carrier bags, many of which were filled with Christmas goodies.
Fred has been one of the best-known broadcasters in the south for decades while Peter's star-studded career has included performances at the 2000 and 2004 Olympics, plus the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games.
The two men were taking part in Text Santa, set up by ITV in 2011 to support UK charities during the Christmas period.
