A MAN who has been missing for 24 hours has been found safe and well.

Keith Moores, who was reported missing from Highcliffe yesterday, was this morning found in Barton-On-Sea.

Police and volunteers had been set to resume a full scale search for missing Poole man Keith Moores at first light on today.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police thanked members of the public who had provided information.

As reported by the Daily Echo, there was increasing concern on Sunday for the welfare of the welfare of the 64-year-old man who went missing in Highcliffe.

Mr Moores was last seen walking along Highcliffe Recreation Ground around 9.30am on Sunday, wearing a blue Torquay United hooded top and dark trousers and carrying a dark blue re-usable Tesco bag.

A call was made to Dorset Police at 1.56pm on Sunday with reports of the missing man and officers have since been carrying out a search along Highcliffe Beach and just above on Wharncliffe Road.

Chief Inspector Ben Hargreaves, of Dorset Police, said on Sunday: “I understand that Keith has been very upset recently and his family are concerned that he may come to some harm.

“It’s possible that Keith is still in the surrounding area, perhaps near Highcliffe beach.

“It’s important that we speak with Keith so that we can be sure that he is safe and well.”

Mr Moores is described as white, five feet six inches tall, of stocky build with grey hair.

Police were assisted in the search yesterday by the Coastguard and my volunteers from Dorset Search and Rescue, DORSAR.

Teams of search volunteers combed local streets and main roads late into the evening.

The police helicopter flew over the area as late as 11pm on Sunday using thermal imaging equipment.
