MY Chemical Romance may be no more but their legacy lives on in Gerard Way.

The charismatic frontman has gone it alone; moving away from the theatrical rock that sold millions of records across the globe for My Chemical Romance and adapting a style of glamorous electro indie.

My Chemical Romance may be no more but Way still cuts a popular figure. Last night's gig at the O2 Guildhall was a sell out and dedicated fans had braved the wet and cold weather hours before the show to get the best view possible of the bleach blonde showman.

Promoting his Hesitant Alien album, Way wasted no time unleashing the set with epic The Bureau, before the uplifting pop punk anthem Action Cat.

Daily Echo:

Zero Zero, Millions, and, Juarez maintained the scintillating pace, before - ever the showman - Way taped red roses to his mic stand, thrown to him by an adoring fan.

Drugstore Perfume was reminiscent of the more tender side of early Green Day.

The MCR-sounding Brother had one of the best reactions of the night, while one of the stand out moments was a teenage girl called McKenzie - dressed in a pink monkey suit - jumping on stage and handing Way a pink feathered scarf and playing the tambourine to Get the Gang Together.

For some it would have been their first ever concert, for others it would have been their 100th, but it was so refreshing to see so many music fans, young and old, immersing themselves into this captivating set.

If rock and roll needed a new direction, the only way is Gerard.
