A HAMPSHIRE filtration company has opened a new base after a multi-million pound investment in the county which included taking on 30 extra staff.

Porvair Filtration Group opened its new £3.5 million site in New Milton which is part of its plan to consolidate its industrial process business across one site.

The company previously employed nearly 50 staff across separate units in the town, with a larger base in Segensworth but the new 42,000 sq ft building brings these under one roof.

Daily Echo:

Chemical and industrial materials will be filtered at the new site for a range of industries.

At the opening of the new site New Forest West MP Desmond Swayne welcomed the investment saying it was a sign of promise in Hampshire.

He said: “I congratulate Porvair Filtration Group on their record of growth and achievement, another example of excellence in UK industry.

“This is also a vote of confidence in New Milton as a great place to do business and I would like to thank Porvair for their continuing commitment to the town.”

The majority of the cash was spent on purchasing and fitting out the building and turning it into a cutting edge facility with £300,000 in clean room technology.

Office network PorvairPorvair has its headquarters in Norfolk, manufactures in both the UK and USA and has an extensive network of offices and distributes throughout the world.

For nearly 50 years Porvair has provided services for the aerospace and defence, nuclear, energy, chemical and industrial process, water treatment and life sciences markets.

As well as integrating Porvair’s industrial process operations the new facility will provide further capacity at Head Office in Segensworth to support the company’s expansion plans in energy and aerospace.

General manager Mike Hughes said: “This represents a significant milestone for our business.

“It will increase overall capacity within the group, facilitate growth across the business and provide a platform for further expansion.

“It will strengthen our capability to meet the growing demands of our customers across a wide range of sectors, including pharmaceutical, chemical and industrial processing and food and beverage.

Porvair Filtration Group managing director Tom Liddell said: “This investment is a strategic step forward which will increase our capability to design and manufacture our products in line with customer expectations.

“I’m confident that both our staff and customers will see our investment as a commitment to technical excellence and customer service.”
