A LORRY driver was assaulted in his cab during a road rage incident in the New Forest.

The 50-year-old had been driving an articulated lorry when he suddenly had to break to avoid a vehicle that had pulled in front of him.

The van then stopped opposite the Hampshire County Council depot on the road leading to the A326.

A man then got out, and following a row assaulted the lorry driver as he sat in his cab leaving him with bruising to his head which required hospital treatment.

The incident took place at the top of the slip road at the M27 junction at Ower (Junction 2) on Tuesday, May 5, at about 5.15pm.

The lorry driver described the other man as white, around 30 years-old, stocky build with short dark cropped hair. He was wearing a blue work shirt and jeans.
