A “corrective campaign” has been launched to test quality problems with products bought between 2004 and 2015 under the names of Hotpoint, Indesit and Creda that could be faulty.

Indesit says it has reported the issue to regulatory authorities for consideration and insists that dryers produced after October 2015 are not affected.

A company statement said: “We are now asking owners of Indesit, Hotpoint and Creda brands, who have not had their appliances already repaired, to contact Indesit. Indesit will arrange a service visit and modify the dryer in the consumer's home at no charge.”
