A TEENAGER has been re-bailed to appear at Southampton police station weeks after a model was knocked down by a car.

Faye Townsend was left fighting for her life after she suffered severe head injuries when a Nissan car ploughed into her while she was walking through West Wellow.

The incident in Tutts Lane on Tuesday December 1 at 1.45pm left the 23-year old model and dancer in a coma with severe head injuries.

The car was later recovered for examination in Calmore.

Weeks later Faye was recovering at home spending the Christmas period with her family.

Officers still want people to come forward to help them with their investigation a fortnight since Faye was stuck down while she was walking towards Groves Down.

A week after the crash police visited the site of the crash at Tutts Lane in order to speak to people who may have seen what happened at about on the day of the incident.

During that operation, police said they spoke to more than 100 motorists in the hunt for clues.

They are still looking for witnesses and have appealed for anyone who may have recorded footage of the event on private CCTV systems to get in touch.

They are still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the Nissan after the collision in the Calmore Road, Calmore Drive, or Richmond Close areas.

An 18-year-old Totton girl, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has since been released on bail pending further police investigations.

She had been due to appear before officers on Friday and has been re-bailed until Wednesday March 30.

A spokesman from Hampshire police was unable to give further reasons why she was re-bailed.
