SCHOOL students have put Justin Timberlake to shame with their own version of the popstar’s hit song Can’t Stop the Feeling.

Youngsters in years seven, eight and nine at Priestlands School in Lymington lip-synched their way through the song for a video, now available to watch online.

Head Chris Willsher said: “We’ve done some videos here before, but nothing like this – it’s the first of its kind for us.

“The idea came from two young members of staff from the English department, Oliver Kingdon and Anya Cant.

“Our year 10 students were out on work experience and students in year 11 have taken their GCSEs, so the pupils in the lower years were due to have an activity week.”

Shot over two days, the video shows students dancing and singing along to the song, which topped the charts after Timberlake’s Eurovision performance.

The student stars of the film then got involved with editing their work on the school’s PCs.

And the video has been such a hit that Mr Willsher has asked for another video which will also feature the year 10 pupils.

“The aim is to create another video which has an element of performance in every subject area,” he said.

“For example, there would be something in the science classrooms.

“We’ve had some very good feedback from the school community about this – there’s a real buzz about it, even with my horrendous, ‘uncle at a wedding’ dancing.

“We have always said that the strength of Priestlands is based on the quality of the relationships within the school.

“For this video, all of those in the school, from teachers to support staff and students, were involved and enjoyed themselves.”
