A MAN had to be rescued from a Hampshire rooftop in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to Bradbeers furniture store in New Milton at 1.15am after a concern for welfare.
Firefighters provided a ladder to get the young man down.
As he was helped down, he was allegedly heard to say: "I do apologise for wasting everyone's time."
A witness living nearby said that he saw a heavy presence of emergency services rush to the store and saw two police cars and a fire crew parked outside of Bradbeers in new Milton High Street.
The witness said that he could see a man on the roof of the store who was helped down by police soon after they arrived.
No one was hurt.
