SIX people including three children were hurt after a crash in the New Forest.

Ambulance and fire crews rushed to the junction of Burley Road and Burley Street this morning after a two-car crash.

The smash, which happened around 9am this morning, saw people trapped inside a car and needed rescuing by the fire service.

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service, who sent two ambulances to the scene, said they assessed six patients at the incident, three adults and three children, for minor injuries.

Five of the patients were taken to Southampton General Hospital for further treatment.

It came less than 24 hours after a man died on the B3056 near Beaulieu after crashing into a tree.
