A HAMPSHIRE drugs dealer who profited from his criminal lifestyle has been ordered to repay more than £1,600 of his illicit earnings.

Shane Lamb, 28, of Elm Crescent in Hythe, has been made the subject of a confiscation order after being convicted of drug offences and the possession of counterfeit goods.

Southampton Crown Court ruled that Lamb had benefitted from his unlawful activities to the value of £11,225.

He has now been told he will go to prison unless he repays £1,694 - a figure based on his current assets - within three months.

Lamb has also been warned that any further money or assets he comes into will be seized until the full amount is paid back.

He had previously pleaded guilty to drug offences and the possession of criminal property at a court hearing on June 21.

For possession with intent to supply Class B drugs with a street value of £1,620 he received a 14-month prison sentence suspended for 24 months with a six-month curfew between 7.30pm and 5am.

He also received a one-year prison term, suspended for 24 months, for possessing herbal cannabis with the street value of £220.

For possessing counterfeit goods he was jailed for two months, suspended for two years. There was no separate penalty for possessing class C steroids.

Chief Inspector Rob Mitchell of Hampshire Police said: "These orders were secured using the Proceeds of Crime Act and Shane Lamb will now have to pay back hundreds of pounds.

"This is a strong reminder that we will use all powers available to us to tackle those committing crime in our country.”
