A DONKEY foal has been killed in a hit-and-run accident outside a Hampshire school.

The animal was hit by a vehicle and seriously injured at a set to crossroads next to Hyde School at Hyde, near Fordingbridge.

The New Forest Verderers say the driver failed to report the accident.

The Verderers recently increased the size of the reward available for information leading to the conviction of drivers involved in hit-and-run accidents.

Lord Manners, the new Official Verderer, revealed that the reward had been raised from £1,000 to £5,000.
