DRIVERS being diverted due to closure on a major Hampshire road may face further delays tonight due to a lane closure.

Motorists using the A31 are being diverted as the westbound carriageway is closed past the A338 junction between 9pm and 6am until August 16.

This means those heading towards Dorset will need to use the A338, but for two nights, one lane of the southbound A338 carriageway is going to closed.

Investigatory work is being carried out between Blackwater Junction and Cooper Dean by Bournemouth Borough Council.

As a result southbound lane closures will be in force from 7pm tonight (Aug 8) until 6am tomorrow (Aug 9) and again tomorrow evening over the same period of time.

A spokesman for Bournemouth Borough Council apologised for any inconvenience caused by the works.
