POLICE have named a cyclist who was killed on a Hampshire road earlier this month.
Steven Jones, 61, of Chapel Lane, Blackfield, died after the collision with a car at around 6.45pm on August 12.
In a statement his family said: “Steve was a loving husband and had recently become a grandfather for the first time.
“He will be very much missed by his family and friends.”
No one else was injured in the accident, which occurred when a black Seat Ibiza was in collision with Mr Jones's bicycle near the Royal Oak pub at Hilltop, near Beaulieu.
Passers-by desperately tried to save the cyclist's life by performing CPR at the roadside but he died from his injuries in hospital.
