By Chris Yandell, Chief Reporter, New Forest
THE under-fire chief executive of the New Forest National Park Authority (NPA) is set to face her critics amid mounting speculation over her future.
Lindsay Cornish will be in the spotlight at the organisation’s annual meeting on Thursday, when opponents have pledged to quiz her over a hard-hitting letter that purports to have been written by her staff.
The anonymous 2,000-word letter, which accuses her of being blinkered and autocratic, was sent to one of Britain’s top civil servants.
The letter is not on the agenda and Ms Cornish’s ten-page report to members makes no mention of the controversy.
However, the issue will be raised when representatives from Forest Uprising, the New Forest Dog Owners’ Group and One Voice attend the public participation period at the start of the meeting.
The three groups have spent almost a year fighting the NPA’s controversial blueprint for the future of the Forest.
Its proposals for the next 20 years include dog-free car parks, curbs on horse keeping and the possibility of road tolls.

All I've seen is some rubbish wooden markers saying where the park boundary is.
The recession aside, I doubt the visitor numbers to the Forest have changed much just because it's a "national park".
A complete waste of time and money and still very wrong to have non-elected officials having so much power (and getting paid so much)
