A pensioner who went missing last night has been found dead.
Police searching for 83-year-old Jean Barritt found her body in shrubland near her home at Heathfield, Hythe.
A post-mortem examination will be held to determine the cause of death but police say there are no suspicious circumstances.
Mrs Barritt was last seen yesterday at 8.30pm and is thought to have been out all night in sub-zero temperatures.
A police spokesman said Mrs Barritt suffered from memory problems and also had difficulty walking.
He added: "Until recently she had links with the Lymington area and it's possible she might have tried to return to her former home in Little Dean Copse, Pennington."

I live in the street opposite Heathfield. Within minutes of the police cars arriving, PCs/PSOs were calling door to door. Then we heard the helicopter circling. I do hope the lady is OK.
