A mystery object discovered in a Hampshire garden has turned out to be harmless.
The large metal ball was found buried in the back garden of a house at Lower Ashley Road in Ashley, near New Milton.
The house and a neighbouring property were evacuated amid fears it could be an explosive device from the First World War.
However, a bomb disposal team from Tidworth, near Salisbury, examined the device and declared the incident a false alarm.
One of the soldiers said: "Whatever it is, it's not ammunition."
