Fordingbridge killings- Family named

Andrew Case with daughters Phoebe and Nereya. Andrew Case with daughters Phoebe and Nereya.

A FAMILY found dead at their Fordingbridge home this morning have been named locally as Vicki and Andrew Case and their little girls Phoebe and Nereya.

Sources at the scene in Provost Street, where the gruesome discovery was made around 11.20am, say they had only been living at the house for a matter of months.

Vicki is understood to have run a local nursery while Andrew, 32, was a driver for a locally based firm.

Eyewitnesses told the Daily Echo how Vicki's body was found in the dining room downstairs at the property, close to the centre of the town, while the two girls were upstairs in a double bed.

Andrew is understood to have been found hanged near to the staircase inside the house.

Police have not confirmed the identities of the four people found dead and have so far refused to comment on the cause of their deaths.

The alarm was raised when the children's nan called at the house and was heard screaming "all my babies are dead".

Neighbours heard the commotion and ran to her while police were called to the scene.

A cordon remains around the driveway leading to the family's home, where several detectives and forensic officers are continuing to investigate what happened.

A post mortem will be carried out tonight on the bodies of Andrew and Vicki Case at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, police said.

The post mortem on the children's bodies is thought to be carried out tomorrow.

Absolutely terrible, one can only wonder what drives a man to do this sort of thing, not that there can be any logic to it all.

Deepest sympathy to relatives.

Not wishing to prejudge the outcome of inquiries, but to paraphrase an earlier comment, 'You just never know what goes on' in the mind of , what philosophers would call, the isolated self.

There are no words that can describe how I feel or think hearing of something like this. My thoughts are with the family, friends and community. Such a sad loss. RIP

This story makes me feel so sad inside to think of those poor tiny inoccent children and mother. There must of something seriously wrong with that man but for him to kill himself makes me think he did knew what he'd done. Life is too short for people to hurt others like that. It scares me I can hardly sleep. My love goes to the family and to the mother and little ones may you rest in peace and be forever in peoples hearts. I'm so sorry x x x x

I can't remember the last time Fordingbridge was mentioned in the local news let alone in the national media. Clearly something very bad happened in that house and let's not ponder on the whys and wherefors
