Funeral for mum and daughters found dead in house

7:42am Friday 6th August 2010

A FUNERAL for a mother and her young children who died at their Fordingbridge home will take place today.

Family and friends will pay their respects to Vicki Case and her daughters Phoebe, 2, and Nereya, 18 months, in a service at St Mary’s Parish Church, Fordingbridge at 3pm followed by a private cremation.

It is believed that the children’s father Andrew Case, 33, killed them and stabbed his wife to death before taking his own life.

No information has yet been released about his funeral.

Members of Mrs Case's family asked for any donations to be made to the Star's Appeal at Salisbury District Hospital through John Shering funeral directors of Provost Street, Fordingbridge.

A coroner’s inquest into the deaths, opened on Tuesday, heard how Phoebe and Nereya’s grandmother Linda Haskell had discovered the bodies on Monday July 26.

Det Chief Insp Chris Fitchet, who is leading the investigation, has said police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths, but are still trying to find a motive as to why Andrew might have killed his family. The cause of the children’s deaths is still not known.
