A WOMAN who died after a crash on the A35 has been described as a 'lovely friendly lady' by her loved ones.

The family of Joyce Frigot today released a statement after the 61-year-old died after a head-on collision on near in Holmesley.

In the statement, the family said: “Joyce was a lovely friendly lady who was full of fun and loved making cakes for friends and loved ones.

“She was a loving wife to Dennis, mum to Shane, Teresa and Sandra, nan to Matthew, Mary, Dennis, Courtney, Jamie-Lee, Joshua and Great Grandma to Lily-Rose.

“She was taken too quickly from us and will be sadly missed by all that knew her.”

Mrs Frigot, 61, from Christchurch, Dorset was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which involved her red Vauxhall Astra and a silver Vauxhall Insignia driven by a 52-year-old man from Southampton.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collision, in particular the driver of a mid-to-light blue Volvo estate which was travelling along the A35 at Holmesley when the crash happened shortly before 10am.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sergeant Andy Lynch at Hampshire Constabulary’s Road Death Investigation Team on 101, quoting Operation Armel.

A 52-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed until August 30 pending further enquiries.
