THE death of a Hampshire woman more than a fortnight after being knocked down by a car will be examined at an inquest next week.

Jennifer Kimber, 60, of New Road, Hythe , was injured when struck by a Skoda Fabia as she crossed Long Lane, Hardley, on January 6.

She was taken to Southampton General Hospital, where she died on January 22.

The incident was on the Hardley roundabout, near the entrances to Fawley refinery and Hardley Industrial Estate. All five junctions of the roundabout were closed for three hours while police investigated.

The 45-year-old Blackfield woman driving the Skoda was treated for shock.

An inquest will be held at Southampton Coroner’s Court on Wednesday.
