GETTING in and out of the New Park showground should be easier this year.
The New Forest and Hampshire Agricultural Show Society has made further improvements to access roads and installed a cattle grid in the gateway near Hollands Wood to prevent animals straying on to the A337.
The Forestry Commission’s large road grading machine was used to level all roads into the showground, a motorcycle park has been set up at Pennyfarthing Mill in the old farmyard and there will be racks for 40-plus bicycles in the disabled car park.
People are also being advised to take the train and to arrive at Brockenhurst station where shuttle buses will take them to New Park at a cost of £3 return for adults, with OAPs and children riding free. In addition the 56 and 56A Lymington to Southampton bus routes run past the showground on a half-hourly basis.
