PUPILS have not only got a taste of life as a wartime evacuee, but they also heard about it from some of those who were there.
Children from Halterworth Primary School met with former evacuees who shared with them their experiences and memories of what it was like to be evacuated as a child during the Second World War.
This was during a VE Day party, which was the culmination of a term’s work exploring life on the Home Front during the Second World War.
