IT was a case of taking the Mickey but it was all in aid of charity. Two employees at Romsey’s Bradbeers department store had their moustaches shaved off in aid of last month’s Movember charity fundraiser.

Paul Light, who has a salon at the store, shaved James Ranger and Paul Sivyour’s moustaches that they had both grown specially for the event.

Both employees work in the stockroom and warehouse and the delicate task of removing their moustaches was carried out in the threading chair in Bradbeers’ cosmetics department.

All the proceeds will go towards the Prostate Cancer and Testicular Cancer charities.

Manager of the cosmetic department Tracy Clement said: “It was all for worthy causes and raised about £200.

“We are proud of them and I think they are very brave.

“Paul performed the operation!
