A ROMSEY playwright and author’s ashes are to be scattered in Cornwall.

As reported by the Daily Echo, Angela Sewell, right, died last month aged 84, and on Wednesday friends gathered at Southampton Crematorium and Romsey Abbey to say a final goodbye to her.

Former Romsey mayor Sylvia Sherlock, who founded the Hat Stand drama company with Angela, and who was a close friend, said life would not be the same without her.

Mrs Sherlock said: “We started Hat Stand to entertain old people in clubs. I have lots of fond memories of Angela and the plays we did.”

Angela enjoyed holidays in Padstow with Sylvia and another friend, and it’s in the Cornish holiday resort where her remains will be scattered.

Donations in memory of Angela, who loved dogs and stargazing, will go to the Dogs Trust and can be sent to Romsey-based funeral directors A H Cheater.
