DARING early morning raiders have struck again in a Hampshire town – stealing a top-of-therange sports car from the driveway.

The theives – who have been targeting homes in Hedge End, Eastleigh and Romsey while homeowners are asleep upstairs – drove off in a high-powered, £37,000 Nissan GT-R when they struck at a house in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The vehicles, which has top speeds of 180mph, was stolen from Romsey’s Westering estate after burglars got in to the house and stole the keys.

It was later found dumped by a patrolling police car in Talbot Road, off Bassett Avenue, Southampton, around 5.30am.

In another raid yesterday, burglars struck at a house in Campion Drive in Romsey.

It’s not yet known what was taken.

As reported by the Daily Echo yesterday, it’s the latest incident in a string of similar thefts across the area.

A Mercedes and an Audi A6 were recently taken from outside homes in Hedge End while thousands of pounds worth of property was taken during a spate of early morning break-ins at homes across Romsey.

Romsey-based Sergeant Alyson West has again advised householders to be vigilant and take extra measures to protect their homes.

In particular, residents are reminded to ensure all keys are kept out of sight and that windows and doors are locked at night or if you leave your home.

Anyone who sees or hears suspicious activity is urged to call 999, particularly if you believe a burglary is taking place at the time.

If you have information about the break-ins, call Detective Constabele Scott Spafford at Eastleigh CID on 101.
