FARM machinery from a bygone era will be taking to the Test Valley countryside this weekend.

This includes binders and old combines and they will be working (weather permitting) in fields off Danebury Road at Longstock near Stockbridge.

Members of the Upper Test Valley Vintage Club are behind the event, which includes around 50 tractors dating back to the 1940s and 1950s that will be pulling, ploughing, disc harrowing and rolling fields.

Event organiser Dave Watts said he is expecting thousands of people to attend the popular and annual show.

“It’s certainly grown in size since it first started. We’ve got around 50 different stalls including old and new tools and knitting.

“We’ve got about 50 classic cars coming, nearly 70 stationary barn engines, two rack bench saws that will be sawing up large pieces of timber and an American Wild West living history show which will include cooking around the campfire and wigwams,” said Mr Watts.

The event runs between 10am and 4pm each day and admission is £5 each. Children under 12 get in free.
