MOTTISFONT Abbey is hosting a Countryside Day next month.
Bosses at the National Trust-owned estate near Romsey are behind a feast of countryside activities at the former Augustinian priory on Saturday, May 9 between 10am and 5pm.
The event will celebrate traditional countryside skills and conservation work on the 1,500-acre estate.
Visitors will be able to watch chainsaw carving demonstrations along with gundog displays by Lains Shooting School, which is based at Quarley near Andover.
There will also be fly-fishing taster sessions and trust rangers will be giving ten-minute talks throughout the day, giving visitors the opportunity to find out more about the work that goes on in the wider estate.
A representative from the New Forest National Park will also be discussing conservation work.
Visitors will also be able to have a go at wood-working, den-building and log-grabbing.
